The Crested Gecko Family
I first saw a crested gecko at my local herpetological groups yearly, "Conservation For Critters" event. This cute little species stayed in my mind and I got a pair at the end of that same year intending to breed them. But some months later it became apparent that such a project would fail - as the female I bought turned out to be a male!

Some time later I got a pair of females and the crested gecko became the first reptile I ever bred.

The project was a success and I launched my home based reptile breeding business, Herpisphere:

Name: Andromeda
Named for the Greek Mythological character who was rescued by Pertheus.

Gender: Possible Female

Morph: Fire

Background: Offspring of Medusa and Flatfoot '07

Personality: Andromeda is relatively friendly, but has her father's urge to jump and explore. She LOVES to eat.

Breeding: Paired with Stickyfingers for '09.

Extra: Andromeda was my first born crested.

Name: Aphrodite
Named for the Greek Goddess of beauty.

Gender: Female

Morph: Cream-yellow mild chevron back

No tail

Background: Bought off of Craigslist April 4th 2007. Originally from Petco.

Personality: Aphrodite has a very mellow and timid disposition. She is very sweet and lives with Medusa.

Breeding: Mated with Stickyfingers '07. Laid first two eggs May 24th '07.

Mating with Flatfoot for '09

PICTURES TO COME Name: Demeter

Gender: Female

Morph:

Background: Bought at a PetCo early '09.

Personality: Demeter is a beautiful sweet and gentle gecko. She is very calm and laid back.

Breeding: Mating with Flatfoot for '09 but no eggs yet..

Name: Flatfoot
When I first brought this guy home (he was one of the two first geckos I got), I couldn't get over their strange flat feet, and toes which actually bend up and back when they walk. Flatfoot came to mind and "Stickyfingers" followed.

Gender: Male

Morph: A hint of the white-fringe trait. Seems to be a mild version of the chevron back morph.

Background: Bought at reptile show in December of 2005 without tail.

Personality: Flatfoot is a wild man. He won't hesitate to nose dive from your hand and he can be insanely fast when he wants to be.

Breeding: Mated with Medusa '07.

Mating with Demeter and Aphrodite for '09.

Name: Medusa
Named after the Greek Mythological monster, Medusa. The switchback pattern down her back reminded me of a snake.

Gender: Female

Morph: Harlequin with some white fringe

Background: Bought off of Craigslist April 4th 2007. Originally from Petco.

Breeeding: Mated with Flatfoot '07. Laid her first two eggs May 21st '07.

Is now a retired breeder.

She is the mother of Andromeda and Squiggles.

Name: Sticky Fingers
When I first brought this guy home (he was one of the two first geckos I got), I couldn't get over their strange flat feet, and toes which actually bend up and back when they walk. Flatfoot came to mind for the other and "Stickyfingers" naturally followed for this little guy.

Gender: Male

Morph: At first thought to be a Patternless Buckskin, but age has shown he is a Light Tiger morph.

Background: Bought at reptile show in December of 2005. The seller assured me he was definently a "she." A few months later I discovered otherwise.

Personality: Stickyfingers is my sweet boy. He has the friendliest disposition and just loves to hang out on your hand and explore.

Breeding: Mated with Aphrodite '07.

Mating with Stickyfingers and Andormeda for '09.

Name: Squiggles
"Squiggles" began as a nickname. He was a cute squiggly gecko with a squiggly pattern down his back, but I originally didn't intend to keep him. But once you name it...

Gender: Female

Morph: Harlequin, some dalmation spots.

Background: Offspring of Flatfoot and Medusa. One of the last clutch that hatched in '07.

Personality: Squiggles is my acrobat. Many a time he has leapt from my hand to do several spins around the bars of my industrial reptile shelves like a real olympic acrobat.

Breeding: Being bred to Stickyfingers.

Extra: Squiggle started as a runt. He was born two days before his clutch mate who outsized him almost immediately. He has since grown to be the same size as the first born of that same year who hatched several months before.
