Welcome to Middle-earth! We have been online since 2003 and are proud to be one of the few Lord of the Rings fansites that still exists and updates as well as to have never ever gone on a hiatus! Middle-earth is well known for its family friendly forum, wealth of original avatars, and fun interactivity which includes contests, roleplaying, and games - all of which are Tolkien themed.
Entertainment Weekly contacted me with the following exclusive, so I'm sharing it with you!
"Yesterday, the British newspaper The Sun ran a story saying that Martin Freeman (a.k.a. Tim from the original U.K. Office) had to decline an offer (and seven-figure payday) to play Bilbo Baggins in Peter Jackson’s Hobbit movies due to a scheduling conflict: The actor was already committed to shoot the BBC series Sherlock, in which he plays Dr. Watson. That’s all true, but according to sources close to the Hobbit production, it’s not over yet. New Line and MGM, the studios backing the Hobbit films, have since come back to Freeman with a proposed schedule that would allow him to shoot both projects. All parties are currently negotiating a deal."
I hadn't actually heard of Martin Freeman as a possibility before. I still want Ian Holmes, but after looking at Martin Freeman's picture, I think he could maybe pull it off. It makes me feel a bit better about The Hobbit. But I'm still skeptical. What are your thoughts?

Just a little note to say that you now have to register in order to comment on the updates. I know it's a bit of a hassle, but the spambots have just been outrageous lately - as you can see. So hopefully this will help with that problem a little bit.

It is a happy day indeed for a very dear friend from long ago has returned to Middle-earth and the Lord of the Rings web community - Eruadan! Eruadan was the owner of a most beautiful website called Dreams of the Fourth Age and it was a very sad day when it disappeared from the net as so many great Lord of the Rings fansites have vanished. Hey everyone, • I finally got round 18 of the guess who contest open so those of you who've been waiting to play can submit your guesses. :) The awards for the winners will be sent out momentarily.
